Improvement

Well, I received the scores of the last mock test I had given. I got a 97%, much better than the previous ones. I managed to clear the cutoffs in two of the three sections. QA proved to be the bummer. Had wasted a lot of time in the beginning of the section. I shoulda have attempted the two markers with more concentration. Got stuck in useless (comparatively) one mark questions. Oh well, since there was an improvement I won't complain much. One of the best mocks I've ever written from the point of view of the quality of questions. Kudos to TIME. Yeah, that's the institute I'm attending.

After the two days I decided to take a break, I started studying again. Today I studied a bit of VA and lately I was analyzing the last mock. Yeah I've been really lazy in doing so. The thing which I should do after the exam I'm doing it after half the week has passed. Neways better late than never. Tonight I'll continue with my analysis of the mock.

Hope that my performance goes up with each and every mock test. This time I'm surely going to post the analysis.

A frustrating time

The last couple of days have been really frustrating for me. Yes the wanking problem, as usual has been troubling me. For that very reason I decided to take a two-day break from my CAT studies. Yesterday and today I haven't touched my CAT materials. Why did I do this? To take account of the situation. To prepare myself for the long and arduous journey that lies ahead of me if I'm to be succeed in CAT 06. My preparation starts again, and I aim to be in better control of my bad habits. I've downloaded documents which will help me to fight the temptation of Internet porn. I do not want to waste this year. I want to get selected to the IIMs. And I need your help people. Please provide me some inspiration on how to resist this temptation. How to build a passion and fire inside me so that I put everything else aside and get cracking on CAT? I'm not an obnoxious guy, this is just my weakness. Please help me fight it.

To crack a mocking test

First of all, sorry for the bad pun in the title. If you din't get it, forget it.

I got the results of my first mock this year. They weren't too encouraging nor were they completely disappointing. I couldn't clear the cutoff in DI/DS/LA but I easily cleared the cutoff in QA, that's a relief. VA was on the borderline.

Negatives:

• The reason why I couldn't clear the DI cutoff was probably due to not glancing through the entire paper at the beginning. I failed to pick up some easy LA questions. Also I made many mistakes in the DI section.
• I have the habit of rushing through the VA section in the hopes of devoting time to the QA and DI section. But this strategy has led to less marks in the VA section as well. This is probably what cost me CAT 2005. I have to ensure that I devote proper time to each of the sections, not be complacent about the VA section and when I'm doing a section, put full concentration on that section.
  

Positives:

• I don't see any clear positives in this mock test. Improvement is the only option.

I have been wasting a lot of time at home doing what I do the most, wanking. Ya that's right, you heard me right. I wank almost every day, and that saps out my energy and concentration. Surprised that a CAT aspirant has such a weakness. Well, I'm sure many of the people out there do have this weakness; I just chose to speak out about it. I waste almost 3-4 hours *daily* wanking. That leads to the tiredness plus the time lost which I could have utilized for studying. That was another cause of my failing to crack CAT05. How should I control myself in this matter? Any tips or suggestions would sure be welcome? I want to crack the CAT this year and get into a really really good b-school (Think IIM). Help me out in this matter if you can.

On my marks

The slate is to be cleaned, the marks to be erased, the wounds to be healed. Here I go again on that journey which has proved to be elusive for me - CAT. I'm starting the journey again after a lot of introspection.

I'm keeping this blog anonymous for now not because I'm afraid to fail, but because it will be a bare-all blog and I'm just not ready to bare it all in public. So here I am again on my marks, getting ready to run again. This time the race is going to be tougher (thanks to Arjun Singh who's rewritten the rules), but I'm going to put more effort in it anyways.
